Matthew Bell, Director in Frontier’s Public Policy team has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2018 for services to climate change.
Matthew returned to Frontier Economics in 2017 after three years as Chief Executive of the UK Committee on Climate Change. In that capacity he oversaw the Committee’s work and its advice to Parliament. His work included influencing the passage of legislation and policies for greenhouse gas reduction and adaptation to climate change.
He commented “This was a big surprise and is a great honour. Although it recognises my work, it is also a recognition of the important position occupied by the UK Committee on Climate Change. The Committee has a central role supporting climate action in the UK. It is also an example for countries around the world in how to achieve the right balance between science, economics and politics when it comes to tackling climate change.”
