The internal energy market

Completing the internal energy market is at the heart of the European Commission’s policy goals.

The EU’s Third Energy Package aims to help develop an internal gas and electricity market. It aims to open up the gas and electricity markets by accelerating investments in energy infrastructure to increase cross border trade and access to diverse energy sources. Frontier has advised companies across Europe on the implications of the Third Energy Package, including both unbundling and restructuring requirements, as well as the requirements of gas and electricity Target Models. We have also been asked by regulators to consider whether Third Package measures will be adequate, given the evolution of issues in the energy sector, or if additional measures will be needed.

Working with Frontier is always intellectually stimulating and practically rewarding. They are always up to speed on major European energy regulatory issues and are prepared to come up with innovative but practical solutions relevant for both regulators and regulated companies. It is a pleasure to work with Frontier.
